Colorful Nicki Minaj rocks colors from hot pink to bright green in new video?

Nicki Minaj (a.k.a. The Harujuku Barbie), star celeb rapper, singer, and songwriter, has a hot new — hot pink, that is — dance song and video, Super Bass. The song has some questionably silly lyrics, but the rapper presents it with her typical flair, complete with a pool full of pink goo and a sports motorcycle made of ice that she really, uh, rides well. With blonde hair and bright yellow eyeliner, sporting a hot pink leopard print suit, Nicki Minaj does come across as very much a Barbie type for the 21st century. Super Bass with lyrics like “When he come up in the club, he be blazin’ up. Got stacks on deck like he savin’ up. And he ill, he real, he might gotta deal. He pop bottles and he got the right kind of bill. He cold, he dope, he might sell coke. He always in the air, but he never fly coach,” capture the 21st century Ken.
The video is super bright and colorful, making it a perfect release for a hot summer pop title. The pool and beach scenes, and some bathing suited beauties brighten up the video even more. And with an upcoming tour with Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj may be rocking the Daisy Dukes (of Dukes of Hazzard fame — check out the film if you’ve never seen the original TV show) even better than Britney. Minaj is also a bright green celebrity. She has participated with Susan G. Komen for the Cure for breast cancer, with a Pink Friday event. In 2010 she was outside The Late Show with David Letterman, signing for charity. Minaj and star celeb Ciara got together in New Jersey for the Urban Vibe 2010 benefit concert. And she went out in March for 2011 Christie’s for the Green Auction: A Bid to Save the Earth, to encourage environmental awareness.
