Anna Kournikova winning trainer or Biggest Loser?

Gorgeous tennis player Anna Kournikova might be a winner when it comes to having natural athletic ability and outer beauty, but some very negative allegations are being made about the celebrity health and fitness advocate’s interior. Now that she quit her stint on The Biggest Loser, reality television cast and crew members are talking — a lot — to the media under the guise of dishing dirt behind her pretty back. Apparently she is not winning any popularity contests as of late. What are people saying about her?

Who is Anna KournikovaAnna Kournikova apparently made some waves with The Biggest Loser, a show that pits contestants against one another to see who can lose the most weight. The star celeb lasted just one season as a trainer before calling it quits. Crew and competitors alike said she was gruff, brash, and just difficult to work with. One source called her “a nightmare” to work with (according to Hollywood Reporter). So who exactly is the biggest loser now? Her or the future competitors who will lose out on the opportunity to train with her?

She apparently told the folks at Hollywood Reporter:

“I enjoyed my time on the Biggest Loser ranch. Although I will not be returning as a full time trainer on season 13, I will always be a part of The Biggest Loser family, and my commitment to bettering lives through health and fitness will continue.”

Despite all the bad mouthing and negative claims, at least one contestant agreed with the tennis star’s brash coaching method. People spoke with Biggest Loser contestant Joe Mitchell. He said the tennis star fixed his way of thinking, something he can carry with him throughout his life. He attributed his accomplishment to the way Kournikova pushed him.

People magazine also reported one of the reality TV contestants as saying, “Anna made me believe that I could [lose weight],” [Mitchell] says. “She drilled in our heads that the only person you can really rely on is yourself.”

Word of the star celeb leaving The Biggest Loser met mixed reactions. Some fans of the show expressed offense at Kournikova’s demeanor on the show. Others applauded her demands of the contestants. Few however mentioned the need for these contestants to be pushed to drop the pounds — a difficult task for most, and one which most people fail or give up on at least once. Anna Kournikova’s unsympathetic approach probably was the catalyst needed for some to stick with the program even if it offended some of the thinner-skinned others.

Whether she returns to work on reality television or not, Anna Kournikova helped influence at least one life for the better on The Biggest Loser.

Additionally, the green celebrity is known for her charitable contributions to the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of America, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and United Service Organization. She’s also participated in numerous charity tennis matches. In 2008, she attended a triathlon to raise money for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

To that end, even if she is a mean girl, we have to give her credit where credit is due — as a health and fitness advocate and for giving her celebrity endorsement to a wide variety of humanitarian charities.
