Hope Solo and her dance pro Maks were a no show on Jimmy Kimmel Live! after she was voted off Dancing With The Stars before the finals. While some sources are reporting she could not come on because she was crying, others are accusing the Olympic Athlete of being a bad sport. Here’s why.
There is a late night talk show tradition on the ABC network. When a celebrity gets kicked off Dancing with the Stars, they head over to do a celebrity interview segment with Jimmy Kimmel on live TV. During the celebrity interview, each star that gets voted off has to watch as Jimmy’s sidekick burns their dancing shoes out in the parking lot. This week, the celebrity who got kicked off before the finals was Olympic Gold Medalist Hope Solo — but she and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy shocked fans when they were a no-show for her shoe burning.
On his show that aired following the DWTS on November 15th (16th), Kimmel joked that thanks to people across the country who did not vote for her and low scores from the judges, now America, “had no Hope.”
They say she was crying too hard to do interviews. But seriously, when it came time to be voted off, neither she or Maks acted like good sports. She told the judges to kiss her butt and then they both blew her special guest appearance with Kimmel totally off. Charming sportsmanship, huh?
But, the show must go on— whether people have hope or not. So, the rest of the DWTS finalists actually replaced Hope and Maks as guests on the late night talk show. Luckily, there was no shoe burning for any of the couples involved; the three looked happy and like friends while they shared the big comfy couch on the show.
Kimmel, who bets on the show results at the start of each season, echoed that Rob Kardashian made a surprisingly great showing the last few weeks of the competition by actually learing to dance. He thinks JR Martinez is a war hero and such a naturally talented dancer that he is hard to bet against — but he admitted he did not know that from the get-go, never having seen him act of All My Children or on the dance floor. Ricki Lake he knew could dance but she thinks JR is the most likely winner. But JR admitted to Jimmy that he is really nervous that Kardashian might even beat him now that he’s had an ankle injury.
But Hope Solo a Mirror Ball Trophy contender? Nope. Moreover, not showing up to burn her dancing shoes was not the way to win fans for sure.
For her bad attitude and f-bomb comments against them that aired on the semi-final results show, Hope Solo might be the right girl for judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli to un-friend on his famous National Unfriend Day. His second annual event is happening Thursday on Facebook.
