Miley Cyrus got her name in the press by allegedly confessing she smokes way to much pot, but former DWTS competitor Kelly Osbourne, a health and fitness advocate, says the teen scene celeb was kidding. She did not even cough after saying it.
Kelly Osbourne and Disney princess Miley Cyrus are apparently good friends. The former Dancing With The Stars competitor turned fashionista health and fitness advocate says she is spitting mad about the latest celebrity gossip swirling on the internet about her famous friend.
Following yet another celebrity scandal report about the Hannah Montana star being a drug addict, Osbourne tweeted, “Let me make something very clear after @MileyCyrus salvia incident we started calling her bob miley as a JOKE! the cake was also A JOKE! it makes me sick that @MileyCyrus so called ‘friends’ would sell her out and lead people 2 believe she is someone that she is not!’
Hollywood Life seemed to be the celeb gossip site she was most upset with for saying her pal had admitted drug addiction, misappropriating humorous remarks.
Kelly Osbourne, who started her Hollywood career on reality television as the daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and his manager wife (and cancer survivor) Sharon Osbourne, comes from a liberal family. When she was younger, the star was overweight, had low self-esteem, and no one expected her to amount to much of anything as a star celeb.
Then she appeared on DWTS — and killed it! With dance pro partner and LGBT activist Louis Van Amstel by her side and covering her back, she did a terrific job dance after dance. Transforming her body and mind in what can only rightfully be called a personality makeover, she’s gone on to become a women’s health and fitness advocate.
Lately, she’s even been working with green celebrity Madonna and her daughter Lourdes on a new fashion line as well as sits in as a panel member on Joan Rivers talk show the Fashion Police. Fans of all ages love to listen to her darling accent and to hear what this nobody-turned-beauty has to say about her life, good taste, current events, and fashion sense.
Defending Miley Cyrus because she is a friend is simply something that sounds just like her. Smart, driven, and not one to mince words, Kelly Osbourne is one interesting girl. But Miley Cyrus really does not need defending from rumors and allegations that she smokes pot.
Why?
Because first and foremost, Miley Cryus (who we follow as a gay marriage rights advocate and pet friendly celebrity) simply followed up with her annual tradition to start her own press scandal in the news.
You see, every year since Cyrus was about 14, she’s released a nude photo, a scandalous image, or gotten herself caught on cam doing something more Britney Spears and less Disney Channel. Whether she was pole dancing in front of children while she wore Daisey Duke shorts, parents found out she had been living with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth for over a year already in a wing of her family mansion in California despite the fact she was still an under age girl, or she was photographed huffing on a water bong, she’s done something extraordinary her famous father Billy Ray Cyrus did not.
Miley Cyrus has kept her name in the press, has gotten lots of free media attention, and has rallied her fans together to defend her name in the press whether she was right, wrong, or playing the part of what some conservative parental groups say is a promiscuous slut.
So, for that reason, while Kelly Osbourne tweeting to defend Miley Cyrus might have been something she did out of a sense of righteous indignation and pure altruism, she (too) has fallen victim to the press machine the celebrity teen masterminded by herself.
That’s an ironic twist in the celebrity news story her Fashion Police co-star Joan Rivers might appreciate… because actually, the entire celebrity scandal is a joke.
Access Hollywood was just one of the websites that reported, “Kelly Osbourne leapt to the defense of friend Miley Cyrus after a video emerged on Sunday showing the teen actress/singer joking about marijuana at her 19th birthday party last week.”
They say, “In the video (obtained by The Daily), Miley can be seen laughing with friends before thanking revelers for a cake featuring the face of reggae icon Bob Marley, saying, “You know you’re a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake — you know you smoke way too much f***in’ weed.””
Osbourne vehemently claims they were simply teasing Cyrus about rumor mills reports she was a stoner and the only high times were created by all the natural laughter at the party.
