TMZ paparazzi photogs captured new pics of Elisabetta leaving an upscale hair salon in California with none other that Steve-O — the man who famously got a full back tattoo picture of himself permanently inked on as a joke for his MTV show. Here’s the celebrity scoop about who they are and why both Eli and her reality television star beau are both technically considered green celebrities.
If you have never been watched Jackass, the MTV reality television show that has spawned an entire series of movies made to entertain and dumb down the masses, consider yourself fortunate. However, it’s the fame and fortune the masochistic stunt show that may have brought Elisabetta Canalis and Steve-O together. He’s yet another iconic American star the Italian swimsuit model can consort with to ease the pain of watching ex-boyfriend George Clooney hit the red carpets with his leggy brawler girlfriend. Like him, she’s a meat-free vegetarian who is covered with tattoos and likes to party.
As for Elisabetta Canalis staying in America, she might be famous in Italy for dating professional soccer players and hosting TRL on the Italian version of MTV but she is desperate to become one of the Hollywood elite. When she landed a date with her Lake Como neighbor, she moved in with George Clooney right away. Claiming she was helping him learn to speak Italian while improving her own English-speaking skills, the celebrity couple seemed mostly interested in her playing tour guide for his celebrity friends who came to visit when they were in town and spending time baking in the sun while lounging together on Mexican beach getaways.
Clooney and Canalis seemed to be a love match because they were both pet friendly and loved drinking wine together. They were also rumored to be into fine dining, although rumor mills frequently reported the Hollywood movie star fell in love with her vegetarian cooking. Canalis, who posed naked for PETA is an advertisement for animal rights, claimed she was okay not having kids with Clooney because her pets were like her children. The celebrity couple took their dogs with them wherever they went to work or on vacation.
Elisabetta Canalis appeared on Dancing With The Stars in the United States in 2011 just after she and George broke up, but her Hollywood introduction to solo fame went poorly. Rumor mills reported that George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis had broken up in the past because of her surly and self-absorbed attitude. Allegedly, she was very high maintenance for a woman who was not very famous. While George actually went public with a press announcement that there had been no ugly fireworks or a flurry of abusive texts from her to him during he weeks following their high-profile split, real fans of the actor who follow news reports about him took special note that the breakup coincided with her telling European press that she would be married. Though its easy to understand why Clooney almost immediately replaced Canalis with Stacy Keibler (an affable blonde with a sunny personality that everyone seems to get along with even if she is a little boring to speak with), seeing Canalis with Steve-O still perplexes a bit. On the surface, the only thing she must see in him is fame, dollars, and that (like Clooney) he is a huge practical joker. As far as what he sees in her, she has an ass like a ten-year-old boy, can probably kick his ass (because she’s so athletic), and let’s face it — he’s masochistic. He would totally derive pleasure from her treating him like the Jackass that he is… so as far as being star-crossed lovers, those two just might have kismet.But there is more of a potential here for a romance click that people might expect.
After all, Steve-O is really not that bad of a person — and even though he gets paid big money to act like one on TV, he really is not an idiot. He spends his quality time abusing himself, not other people. In fact, like Elisabetta Canalis, he is also a die-hard vegetarian. He actually walked out of a charity event for the American Diabetes Foundation because they served meat. He made a great point that them serving meat (instead of a healthy vegetarian alternative) was like serving alcohol at an AA meeting. [He’s right, actually. Just think about Paula Deen announcing to the press she’s got Type 2 Diabetes, then saying she’s changing her diet but being photographed by the paparazzi while out chowing down on a big fat greasy cheeseburger. It smacks of hypocracy, really.]
