[Feb. 12]

She is smoking hot, talented on the tennis court, and a real green celebrity for the world of sports to look up to in the 21st century as a role model. She’s blonde tennis player Maria Sharapova — and according to AskMen.com, she is one of the hottest ladies known in Hollywood.

The mens health and fitness oriented website revealed the following green celebrity details about Maria Sharapova on their list of Top 99 Women, determined by online voter polls. They say:

Maria Sharapova is a female firecracker who lights up the tennis court with her fast moves and sleek, sexy body.

As comfortable on the tennis court as she is in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, she rebounded from a 2009 injury and several inconsistent efforts to make the fourth round of both the 2010 U.S. Open and Wimbledon.

Finishing the season ranked at No. 18 in the world, Sharapova capitalized on her hot status by inking a record-setting $70 million endorsement contract with Nike.

In advance of the 2011 Fed Cup, where she will represent Russia, she also returned to her homeland, Chernobyl, as part of her association as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations.

On her Hollywood hotness factor we totally agree. Super fit Maria Sharapova is lovely. Another hot female celebrity who volunteers for the United Nations is actress Angelina Jolie.

Will Maria Sharapova make the transition from being known as a world-class tennis player to being a household name as a model, perhaps an actress who does more than just the funny commercials we have already seen her star in on TV, or for her humanitarian work as a green celebrity?

Either way, we’ll be cheering! Why? Because in addition to all her global charity non-profit work, Maria Sharapova is also pet friendly. SHe’s a dog lover of the first order with one of the cutest little Pomeranian pups on the Hollywood red carpet scene.

Bee Movie is a children’s cartoon classic made by Dream Words Studios. The family film features the voices of green celebrity actress Renee Zellweger and green celebrity actor Jerry Seinfeld as the hero and heroine characters. [Both are noted humanitarians and eco friendly activists.] The movie sparked the imagination of many young people who became interested in the history of bees and bee keeping.

Bees are known for making honey. Honey bees are loyal to their queen and always work to bring pollen and nectar back to the queen bee in the bees nest. Insects are fascinating to study in general, and while bees might be an insect you want to study from afar, the social interaction of bees while in the hive reveals a great deal about how a species can use positive interaction between society members who each have their own place in the social heierchy that help create functional and prosperous colonies. The children’s Bee Movie really emphasized this humanitarian theme. [Well, insect – arian, actually.]

Workers help the queen bee to tend to her eggs which are kept safely in the hive. Worker bees also visit a wide variety of local garden flowers, bringing back pollen and nectar that helps nourish the colonies residents and keep the hive thriving.

Bees rely on plants and plants rely on bees. When ever a bee flies to visit flowers, they take little bits of pollen and nectar between the plants to help cross pollination.

Bees are helpful little insects — but they are not much fun when they sting! Check out these amazing bee keeper photos. These bee your best bee keeper seen in the “man covered in bees” photos below are folks are far braver than me! Amazing. Simply amazing.
