Nicki Minaj gives thanks for Taylor Swift (American Music Awards)

Charitable celebrity Nicki Minaj, a huge supporter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, thanked green celebrity Taylor Swift at the 2011 American Music Awards.

Taylor Swift is one of the hottest celebrity names in music news as of late. She recently won the Entertainer of the Year award at the 2011 Country Music Awards. Donning a glittery strapless gown to accept her award for best Country female singer at the American Music Awards, she looked her normal radiant self. While Kanye West was nominated in the Rap category (an award that was given shortly after hers), real fans of T Sizzle were delighted to see a girl beat him out for his award.

Who is Nicki MinajNicki Minaj, one of the most interesting new performers to hit the pop music or rap music scene, beat Kanye West. Escorted onto the stage while she kept her balance in what looked to be 10 inch heels, the darling diva donned a baby pink wig. Her gown was a lovely mix of black lace strapless top with a billowing green ball gown bottom.Thanking God, a few other folks she needed to personally mention, and none other than Taylor Swift as her inspiration.

When she named the teen scene celebrity in her thank you list, Taylor’s jaw dropped. Turning to her handsome brother (her date for the AMA awards — no celebrity scandal involved), she looked both surprised and delighted to be thanked by the hot celeb Nicki Minaj.

Taylor Swift has been stepping up her charity benefit work lately despite spending most of the last year performing live on tour. She’s given her celebrity endorsement to UNICEF (a charity that helps feed starving children), Habitat For Humanity (a non-profit organization that helps build houses for the homeless), and the Red Cross (the international charity group that helps provide disaster relief).

Nicki Minaj (on the other hand) has been a big advocate promoting breast cancer awareness. She also was a surprise guest at a big charity even that promoted green awareness and being eco-friendly to the hip hop community.
