Kardashian Sisters!

Khloe Kardashian looking a bit like DWTS fat actress Kirstie Alley in Cosmo?

[Apr. 2]

Khloe Kardashian, of Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality television fame, co-created by Ryan Seacrest, alongside sisters Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, is gracing her first Cosmopolitan magazine cover. Cosmopolitan magazine has released a Middle East issue with Khloe Kardashian on the cover. In the issue, Khloe talks about her body image as a fat actress with love handles, compared to her sisters Kim and Kourtney.

The Huffington Post talks about her interview with Cosmo:

“Dealing with the Kardashian body image,” she answers when asked what is the toughest part of being a Kardashian. “Kim and Kourtney have said to me, ‘If we were put under the same negative attention that you are, we couldn’t handle it.’

But none of the Kardashian sisters is immune to body image issues. Kim says she’s got cellulite problems, and Khloe has said she’d rather trade the love handles for the cellulite. It may be because Khloe in the past has had to quell rumors that she was pregnant. She put those to rest back in June, but she says her weight is still a struggle for her.

“I’m the ugly sister,” Khloe said back in February. “I’m the fat one. I’m the transvestite. I have had those mean things said about me at least twice a day for the last five years. It’s horrible, you know? But I can brush that stuff off.”

And the appearance for Cosmo is telling. Khloe Kardashian still has a nice figure, and she says that people are always telling her and sisters Kim and Kourtney that they have nice booties. Khloe says she is not upset by her curves.

Tsunami Dog: Family pet found alive after being lost at sea for 3 weeks?

Japanese Tsunami Dog Rescue!

Family pet found alive after floating on debris alone for three weeks while lost at sea?

[Apr. 2]

When you think about charity after a natural disaster, typically the first thought that comes to mind is humanitarian aid. Among the hoards of green celebrities also assisting with tsunami and earthquake relief in Japan — rocker Katy Perry has donated proceeds from glowsticks she is selling on her current tour, Gwen Stefani and pet friendly Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock each have donated $1 million to the relief efforts in Japan. Hollywood stars who are able to donate large sums of money whenever a disaster strikes are heroes in their own right, but there are other types of hero figures the work can and should admire as well. For instance, the members of the Coast Guard and Red Cross rescuers have become green celebrities in their own rights, working tirelessly to find any survivors even though Japan has already survived the difficult three weeks since the devastating earthquake and subsequent tsunami struck the island nation in March of 2011. And there are others — like the family pets who have been able to endure harsh conditions and to survive despite the loss of human companionship, care, or supervision. Like the Tsunami dog who was just rescued off the coast of Japan, where it has been floating alone on debris while trying to keep itself alive the past three weeks.

Green Homes: 90 foot New York apartment makes tenant a celebrity?

Green Homes!

90 foot New York apartment makes tenant a celebrity?

[Apr. 2]

What do you do when you’re a poor writer, perhaps a wannabe green celebrity, and you live in Manhattan? The big city is not necessarily known for its green lifestyle except to superstars like Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. And even these green celebrity superstars have recently listed homes in New York for sale. Feeling the crunch perhaps?

In spite of the odds, writer Felice Cohen decided she wanted to live in Manhattan — Upper West Side Manhattan, in fact. But she didn’t have the $3,600 a month that a rental property in Manhattan typically costs. So, with the help of a friend, she made the best of it, landing a 90 square foot (12×7) microstudio for just over $700 a month.

In a video she has made, Felice Cohen, who also touts herself as a professional organizer, knows how to go green when it comes to making the most out of such a small place. This aspiring (and inspiring!) green celebrity has just a combination desk and shelf lining one wall, cleverly packed with plastic containers housing all her goodies, including a mini-refrigerator, a toaster oven (where she keeps her bananas), and the computer she writes from. Cabinet space above and below hold her kitchenware, which includes a hot pot and her dishes and utensils, since she the microstudio has no kitchen.
