Strange News: Jon Stewart praised FOX conservative Bill O’Reilly?

Strange News!

Late night talk show host and liberal Jon Stewart praises FOX conservative talk show host Bill O’Reilly for statements about Michelle Obama and Barack Obama?

[Apr. 14]

Gasp. Just when you thought FOX News hated all things liberal, and just when you thought comedian and green celebrity Jon Stewart of The Daily Show hated all things FOX News, the comedian and television host actually praised FOX News commentator Bill O’Reilly, host of The O’Reilly Factor for dismissing claims that President Barack Obama was not born in Hawaii, and dismissing claims that First Lady Michelle Obama lost her license to practice law.

Jon Stewart on The Daily Show went on to mock Sarah Palin, for continuing to claim that President Obama may have something to hide by not making his birth certificate public, in spite of evidence to the contrary, notes the Huffington Post. Stewart also mocked Rep. Michele Bachmann (MN) for saying she takes Obama at his word, with Jon Stewart joking, “You don’t accept gravity because you take Newton’s word for it.”

Kobe Bryant apologizes to LGBT community for openly gay slur?

[Apr. 14]

Perez Hilton, an openly gay blogger, knows a little bit about bullying. When he speaks, his words have the power to heal, divide, or hurt any celebrity or public figure. Whether he is outing a Hollywood star or starlet who is not yet ready to have their sexuality thrust into the bright lights of paparazzi attention or he is simply commenting that someone’s choice of fashion on the red carpet is at best ugly, his words reverberate throughout the blogosphere in such a way that they give him star power and the accused or praised a public media boost like no other. But what about when simple phrases that reinforce negative stereotypes are thrown around by other less prolific celebrity figures while people are listening and cameras are rolling? Such was the case when celebrity athlete Kobe Bryant, an NBA basketball player, threw out some openly stupid remarks about the gay community. Realizing after the fact that he had been labeled a verbal bully recanted his remarks with a public apology almost immediately, and since the sports hero himself had a checkered past filled with nasty allegations about his own sexual nature with regard to misogynistic behavior but was forgiven by fans, Kobe Bryant now hopes the gay and lesbian community across the United States will forgive him.

Elizabeth Taylor jewelry auction confirmed by Christies —

[Apr. 11]

After the death of Elizabeth Taylor (a.k.a. Liz Taylor) last month, the actress icon’s extensive jewelry collection, estimated at a value of $150 million, will be going up for auction. Christie’s auction house has not released a date for the auction, but Taylor had worked with the auction house in the past and word of the pending sale of the screen legend’s personal belongings (as celebrity property) is believed to be reliable. Following up on the Hot Hollywood gossip lead, NY Mag confirmed, “Christie’s confirmed today that they’ve struck a deal with Elizabeth Taylor’s family to sell the late actress’s famous jewelry collection, as previously rumored, as well as some of her artworks, clothing, and other belongings.”

Says Style List:

Taylor speculated before her death that one day her private collection — said to rival that of some royal households — would be “scattered around the four corners of the world.”

The famed actress and stylist and green celebrity, even after beginning her battle with heart disease, was known to continue to benefit charity. She allowed some of the most famed pieces from her jewelry collection to be displayed for charity by Christie’s, though none up for auction then.
