Bottom line, the former Disney Princess has started to settle down and has been leading a much more fulfilling and quieter life since she started dating Jason Trawick. Will she really marry a man who is significantly older than she is — and if so, why?
Britney Spears is no cougar. She and new fiancé Jason Trawick jetted to Las Vegas on Friday December 16th, 2011 to celebrate their recent engagement. Making the Twitter announcement she is, “blessed” the pop music princess seems more mentally and emotionally stable than she has been in years. For that reason one has to wonder, is Brit better because she finally has a decent father figure in her life — even if it is an older man she turns to for romance? The man she plans to marry is ten years her senior.
The former Disney princess just turned 30 years old this month; when the couple arrived in the famous vacation destination city, they were also there to celebrate Jason’s 40th birthday. That’s a 10 year age difference that has surprised some who pegged Spears as a future Madonna or Jennifer Lopez — both pop music singers who seem to have a thing for flitting about with younger men.
Gen Y star Britney Spears has a world-famous melt down years ago, shaved her head bald, and lost custody of her kids to ex-husband Kevin Federline (a back up dancer). He was also a few years older than Spears. Britney Spears‘ birthday is December 2nd. She was born in 1981. Kevin Federline was born the 21st of March in 1978, giving the celebrity couple just a few months more than a two-year age difference. The two were known for their wild lifestyle, spending money like water, and excessive partying. Both, while together, were allegedly heavy drinkers despite being parents.
Jason Trawick, however, is significantly older than Britney. The Gen X business professional started working for Brit when she was still married to K-Fed. The two hooked up romantically (at least that they acknowledged to the general public) long after her meltdown. Actually, he’s been credited for getting her music career back on track and helping her grow up emotionally enough to be a functional parent for her children. Now, her agent is positioning himself to become her legally recognized leading man.

However, that stable influence seems to be helping her excel in life (even if her husband does have to take the back seat to her fame and popularity).
Britney and Jason seem to “get” that a younger wife can only continue to be a trophy for an older or less attractive man if he is willing to love and support her unconditionally. That unwavering love and respect can make for an ideal and very comfortable romantic relationship for both parties (even if it does lack some of the wild night drama and surface level pizzaz of looking like superstars on the red carpet when posing for pictures together).

The news made us laugh because it seems younger stars like Britney Spears and even Nicki Minaj are not just attracted to older men. They also seem to like older women. Madonna, believe it or not, was born August 16th, 1958 — making her one of the world’s sexiest Baby Boomers.
But unlike Britney, Nicki Minaj has been spotted flirting with Gen Me star Justin Bieber.
But what does Spears see in Trawick? Apparently, he is centered (as expected). People magazine reports, “Things are casual … Britney really listens to what he has to say. He’s been with her a long time, he gets along with the family,” says the source. “He has her best interests at heart, and he cares about her.”
And that sounds like a healthy celebrity couple relationship. For that choice, Britney, we have to say congrats.
