MTV is the music television channel. The cable TV network has its corporate finger on the pulse of the entertainment news industry though, and as a major player in Hollywood hosts it own awards show. Called the MTV Movie Awards, the MTV network takes public interest surveys and reviews box office results and decides which Hollywood films — blockbuster or not — are worthy of the coveted popcorn trophy they bestow. In their decision-making process, they also nominate actors and actresses who were fan favorites (very much unlike the Oscars and very much like the Peoples Choice Awards). MTV Video Music Awards honor musicians who produce spectacular video; however the movie awards night really is all about the big time box office theater shows. Movie series like the Twilight Sage have proven to be the biggest winners of fan votes the past few years, and the star celebs in them have pretty much cleaned up when it came time to take home the MTV Movie Awards. Video releases of new movie trailers or box office hit films that remind viewers why individual films were nominated or hype a new movie coming out are a big hit. At the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, the big news of the night was actually more about trivia like the fact Justin Bieber was a no-show and that the media got their hands on a copy of the Twilight Wedding Invitation used in the filming of the new Twilight movie Breaking Dawn.

He was, in all reality, a little bit crack-tastic in his demeanor; hearing how the mighty glamazon has fallen from grace in Hollywood social circles, it is no wonder hearing now that she and Arnold Schwarzenegger were doing the wild mambo behind Maria Shriver’s back comes as a new low for her — not a kudos for landing a movie star notch on your bedpost.
