In recent years, winner of six Grammy awards Whitney Houston struggled with addictions to cocaine, alcohol, and pills. Her reps are only confirming the singer died. They have confirmed disturbing details that her body was discovered at the Beverly Hilton in the bathroom specifically. Her bodyguard is the one who found her. Paramedics tried unsuccessfully to revive her for over 20 minutes in the bathroom of the Beverly Hills hotel where she was found unresponsive. L.L. Cool J says his quandary was how to show respect to Whitney Houston without laying a cloud of despair over the festivities for the rest of the nominees and award winners. Show producer Neil Portnow said what is true by nature for the music community is they are able to improvise and that they are proud to do the tribute for Whitney with love on Grammy Awards night. Jennifer Hudson and the Grammys crew have been scrambling to alter the show schedule to include such a special tribute to Whitney Houston. The singer died the day before the show and friend Mariah Carey (who would have been a natural pick) claims she is utterly distraught and is in tears over the news she’s lost her celebrity friend. The three days between people seeing Houston partying, finding the body, and the show happening have flown by quickly in Hollywood.
