Competing with new offerings from CBS and NBC, The Bachelor won a scant 7.7 million viewers for its season premier. Last year, Bachelor star celeb Brad Womack drew in 9 million viewers. People would rather watch failed relationships (a la star celeb splits like those of Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry and Russell Brand, and Sinead O’Connor) than watch love blossom for Ben Flajnik. Fans and critics alike continue get the rumor mills worked up over love birds like green celebrities Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, who have shown zero signs of relationship troubles. In a video clip segment he taped to air during an episode of the daytime talk show Ellen with host Ellen Degeneres, the Biebs showed up at Whitney Elementary School in Las Vegas for a special holiday visit with the kids there. Martha Stewart career going to the dogs (TV ratings low, show cancelled)

Cancelled!?! Say what? Martha Stewart, the iconic homemaker and television star celeb known for her arts and crafts projects and fine foodie sense, will not be appearing on the Hallmark channel as the anchor for her own daytime television show any longer. Entertainment Weekly spoke to the network and confirmed that the show starring the pet friendly celebrity herself is just one of a number of lifestyle theme TV shows belonging to the Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia brand, will cease production in April of 2012.
