Winona Ryder Spanish style Hollywood home in CA sold?

[Feb. 20]

Actress Winona Ryder has sold her Sunset Strip-area California home for $3.725 million, the Multiple Listing Service shows.

As a Hollywood celebrity with her star on the rise, Winona Ryder was one of America’s sweethearts at one time — that is until she spiraled downward and got picked up on shoplifting charges. She’s the Generation X version of a golden age Lindsay Lohan, with all the star power but none of the crazy nonsense, making her the MEH Hollywood starlet version.

Born Winona Horowitz on October 29, 1971 in Winona, Minnesota (honest to gosh), the brunette actress is the god-daughter of Timothy Leary. [That explains a few things about why she was so great in the cult classic comedy hit Beetlejuice starting Geena Davis, Alec Baldwin, and Michael Keaton.]

According to the Sarasota Herald Tribune, “Actress Winona Ryder has sold her Sunset Strip-area home for $3,725,000. according to the MLS Listing Service.

The 1936 Spanish-style house sits behind a thick hedge of ficus trees on 1/3 acre.of land.  Bougainvillea and wisteria cover the entrance and balconies of the 3,765 Square foot villa.

Original features include Malibu tiles, a curved staircase and Art Deco bathrooms.  The kitchen and breakfast room open to a patio and swimming pool.  The living room and pub overlook the fornt yard.  There are four bedrooms and four bathrooms.  She bought the property in 1998 for $2,600000 in 1998 according to public records.”

Winona Ryder starred in “Edward Scissorhands” with actor Johnny Depp back in 1990, Little Women” 1994. Girl, Interrupted with actress Angelina Jolie in 1999, and then returned last year in “Black Swan” — the Golden Globes favorite movie starring Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman. In addition, Winona Ryder starred in the TV movie “When Love Is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story” and “Star Trek” (2009).

She also took a leading lady role opposite Adam Sandler in his sleeper hit movie Mr. Deeds.
