Mariah Carey says she is heartbroken to hear that the Grammy award-winning singer Whitney Houston is really dead. She claims to have been in tears over the shocking news that her dear friend and long time music rival was found non-responsive in a Beverly Hills hotel room. Houston died the day before the Grammys were scheduled to take place in 2012. Inside sources say Carey, a new mom and wife to America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon, claimed she was so upset she could hardly function. Jennifer Hudson and the Grammys crew have been scrambling to alter the show schedule to include such a special tribute to Whitney Houston. The singer died the day before the show and friend Mariah Carey (who would have been a natural pick) claims she is utterly distraught and is in tears over the news she’s lost her celebrity friend. The three days between people seeing Houston partying, finding the body, and the show happening have flown by quickly in Hollywood. Everybody is suggesting their fantasy pick names of who The X Factor show creator Simon Cowell should hire as judges. Billboard is offering their suggestions for their picks to replace Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. The Billboard suggestions list is full of pop diva names like Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, and Fergie. Websites reporting reality TV news are saying he hopes to hire Beyonce Knowles or Madonna. But Mariah Carey’s name is the one that comes up more often in conversations. Her name is on the Billboard list as well.
