Green Celebrity Spotlight: Shine On Eco Friendy Author Emilio Estefan (Rhythm of Success Book Review)

Green Celebrity Spotlight!

Author Emilio Estefan’s new book on sustainability a success according to eco friendly readers —

[Jan. 5]

I just finished reading a great book by Emilio Estefan called the Rhythm of Success.

Emilio Esteban’s name may not sound familiar to you. However, I’ll bet that Gloria Estefan does sound very familiar.  Emilio is her husband and for many years her manager.  The two have a huge name in the music industry, however, their company, Estefan Enterprises, also has real estate holdings.  This is why I chose to highlight Emilio Estefan.  He makes a commitment to “get into the habit of recycling and using only what we need-and preserving the rest or giving it to someone who needs it…”

Estefan Enterprises makes a concerted effort to use sustainable practices in their buildings, in fact one of their 30 businesses is the Costa d’ Este in Vero Beach, Florida and it is LEED certified.  LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

Green isn’t limited to building though.  It can be about any manufacturing process and even music.  Borrowing from another musician, Will-I-Am, it’s a “little bit of old, and a bigger bit of New”.

The book Rhythm of Success was recommended to me by a friend who knows that I am ALL about the environment, energy conservation, improvement, investing, growth and learning.

I picked up the book and immediately fell in love with it!  I hope you pick it up too.

It’s too late for Christmas but perhaps it can be a Three Kings day gift.

There are many reasons I LOVED this book, however, one of the main is that the book provided me a definition of GREEN!

Yes I said it, an autobiography of a celebrity talks about the environment, green building and recycling.  I am verbose and loquacious and gregarious and all these things, however I was still looking for something that defined being green.

Low and behold on page 152 he gave me what I was looking for.  Senor Esteban said this about recycling “…taking something, items, ideas- and using it more fully….it’s about being creative and resourceful…something new built on or out of something old has a certain positive energy.”

Doesn’t that resonate with you?

It’s amazing that whenever I am looking for an answer and I mean actively LOOKING and not passively waiting on it to bump me on the head, I find it.

Mr. Estefan highlights a few instances where he rep-urposed something from its original use into something new and different in music and in his real estate ventures.

I love reading and hearing about green celebrities that are making impacts, especially when it its people we wouldn’t initially think of.

Ladies and Gentlemen, thanks for reading and please remember that…
